Overview
A course syllabus can be a powerful tool to promote student learning: It gives a positive first impression of your course, and makes explicit to students your learning objectives and expectations. The Center for Instructional Innovation (CII) has worked with WWU faculty to develop an online tool that can be used to create, modify, or add to a course syllabus. The syllabus-building tool, named Calypso, will prompt instructors to include all of the standard syllabus items, including a dynamic schedule feature, with ease and flexibility.
