Funding Opportunities
Opportunities for funding related to teaching and student assessment
- The Bureau for Faculty Research at Western offers summer
teaching or research grants for projects related to the enhancement of instructional
quality. Individual faculty development awards of up to $1,500 and
departmental awards of up to $2,500 are available for the improvement
of teaching, scholarship or creative activity.
- The Northwest Academic Computing Consortium offers a "Proof
of Concept" program that awards ten to fifteen grants of $10,000

- The Institute for Experiential Learning, in conjunction with
the Association of American Colleges and Universities, offers a Faculty
Fellows Internship Program in Washington, D.C. This program allows faculty
to "participate in a professional internship program that allows
them to go to Washington for a semester to engage and utilize their
skills and knowledge in a setting that complements their discipline." For
