The project is currently on hold. In review, watching the site statistics, listening to student perspectives during the quarter, and seeing how the project grabbed the attention of the local media (see press release) provided plenty of insights.
The four chosen blog authors posted text and photos periodically about their musings on college life, both academic and otherwise. Other members of the campus community logged in and added comments. What was most impressive was the actual number of visitors to the site:
- 5,082 total unique visitors during the 2006-07 academic year, with nearly 27,000 page views, and 45% returning visitors
- 1/4 of U.S. visitors were from out of state and 6% of the visitors came from Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, France, India, China, Poland, and Singapore
- 47 "articles" posted by the blog authors, mostly during Fall Quarter, with a few postings throughout the academic year.
- 64 different comments on the various blog postings by members of the campus community
