Distance Education Instructional Design Document Assignment
As a student in this class you need to extend the depth and range of
your final project. To do so entails the following:
1. Include a full instructional design rationale for your mini distance
education class. This information will be graded on the following criteria:
- Content presented in a developmentally appropriate progression.
- Employed appropriate needs assessment procedures.
- Identified and developed based on learner characteristics.
- Performed appropriate task analysis.
- Developed appropriate instructional objectives.
- Designed instruction using an appropriate sequence.
- Designed instruction using appropriate prescriptions for instructional
strategies.
- Designed and developed a appropriate instructional delivery methods.
- Designed and developed appropriate evaluation instruments.
- Consistency across objectives, instructional strategies, content,
and evaluation instruments.
2. Identify an audience capable of Beta testing your distance education
package. You may use graduate students or professionals in the field.
Develop an assessment measure capable of allowing these individuals a
means for objectively evaluating the work you've accomplished. Seek out
quotes of support from well-known educators, administrators, or professionals
from the field. Include these quotes of support in your final product
(i.e., under an option titled what people are saying or reviewer reactions).
The designs and models you will look at can be applied to the development
of instructional materials that align with a variety of content and audience-specific
demands with a distance education program. You will also have the opportunity
to work collaboratively in a learning team or as an independent researcher
to uncover current and emerging instructional innovations. To begin we
will be looking at the Instructional Development Stage taken from Guide
#3 Instructional Development for Distance Education http://www.uidaho.edu/evo/dist3.html
to begin our quest n the design process.
